The Test
Surrender
some blood the doctor said
Once
again to check you are not dead
No
stranger to this but it will dampen a day
Proactive
diligence is good care so into the fray
Appointment
made, day in the distance
Comfort
those nerves with coffee and croissants
Spirits
now bright, optimism at its height
Do not
abuse this fleshy temple so step back from fright
The days
click down but you know what’s ahead
Constant
little tune, the test is in your head
Suddenly
the world moves out of step, or is that you?
Emotions
driven from east to west, sloshing in your bayou
Comes the
day, morning dawns all bright
You
awake, like a shot, today is the night
Prepared
you arrive at Dracula’s palace
One, two
three – its over, time for coffee solace
