Innocence
Her Strength
When you
walk by, look in her eyes
Look
beyond the prettiness and witness the sadness
Buried so
deep, the cry’s silent
But the
verge of tears is always a moment
Was she
too shy and innocent?
For the
world doesn’t take kindly to that
Her
experience where the sweetheart touch was unknown
Where
those closest were frightening and left her alone
She
remembers the scorn and rejection because she came from lower down
False
accusations that rang out and called “thief”
So all
she did was deny and in confusion cry
Bu she
found in that, the ability to always rise, her eyes dry
Alas,
mistakes in life with guidance herself
Those
pathways that lead and never quite arrive
So she
sits wondering with her scars, all alone
Yes
still, despite the sadness she’ll never let herself down
