Where We Are

Where We Are

When we’re young we see the future
When we’re older we see the picture
Imagination or reality machination
Choose between what can be or surrender sanctification

Along come cacophonies, mind deafening ideologies
Persuasive monologues from pithy demagogues
Barely able to breach their thrown obstacles
Don’t mind the scars for they’re beauty on pedestals

So we live in our suffering silence alone
Life’s mockery as if we permanently atone
For the future we held so bright
For the picture we saw and held so tight

Our lives are invisible to each other
We only see a snapshot at times without bother
Suffering or happiness is invisible and looks the same
No balance but only extremes and no one sees our names
