Witness

Witness

You witness the tale of trauma in her eyes
The terror in her face that cried
Where sickness tried to deny her life
But she fought and with her doctors triumphed over strife

Her story of reality facing eternity
But courage and modernity denied fatality
It terrifies but mollifies witnesses
It brings frivolity to a stop and it’s stark

Gratitude each day for being in health
For there’s no greater wealth
As grandma said, then you can go thru’ anything
The richest man would give all and be a poor foundling

So we celebrate and see her beauty
Her strength and character holding out thru’ nights
Courage and bravery is really not thru’ do and dare
It’s the strength to never surrender
